Doyle Cooper

Mr. Doyle “Coot” Tate was born September 27, 1932, to the late Latimore and Flora Tate. Doyle united with Crystal Springs A.M.E. Church at an early age. He later United with Winan United Methodist Church. He was a faithful tithe payer until his failing health.

Doyle married Lillian Lee Butler Tate. He worked many years with Earl Martin Electric Company. He attended Vernon School in Mt. Hermon, LA.

Doyle leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted sister, Jessie Lee Varnado of New Orleans; two brothers, Troby Tate of Gonzales, LA and Ollie Tate of Columbus, GA; two aunts, Rosia Tate of Franklinton, LA and Pearl Tate of Uneedus, LA; one sister-in-law, Ida Mae Tate of Houma, LA; a host of nieces , nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, mother and father and two brothers.

Visitation will be Friday, February 28, 2014 from 2:00—6:00 PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton, LA.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Magee’s Temple Church of God in Christ with Supt. Cecealine “Pepe” Tate officiating. Interment will be held in Winan Cemetery.
