If I can help somebody as I pass along, if I can help somebody with a word or song, if I can help somebody that is traveling wrong, then my living shall not be in vain. The end of this life is the beginning of a New Life, for the better, for sweeter, without sickness, pain, sorrow, and most of all no death. Only by faith can we know this life and this is the life. She departed this life at 10:15 A.M. October 5, 2011 at Riverside Medical Center.
Sister Lorraine Coleman, Williams was born February 27, 1952 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Felix and Bessie Sibley Coleman, to this union three siblings were born. She confessed a love for Christ at an early age and joined church and was baptized at Crystal Spring A.M.E. Church. She remained a member there until she and her family joined the Plainview Church of Christ Holiness. There she was a faithful member and deaconess working in many capacities of the church, where ever she was needed. She loved her church and her Pastor.
Lorraine attended the Vernon School and graduated from the Mt. Hermon High School. She worked many jobs but devoted 30 years to the Washington Parish School system at Mt. Hermon School.
Lorraine leaves to cherish her precious memories a loving husband Nonzie T. Williams Sr.; four daughters, Deondra D. Tidies of Mt. Hermon, LA, Lawana K. Williams (Lewis A. Wilson Sr.) of Franklinton, LA, Patrice M. Williams and Nahla S. Williams both of Mt. Hermon, LA; five sons, Dennie D. (Yolanda) Williams of Covington, LA, Dennis O. (Vonda) Williams of Dallas, TX, Nonzie T. Williams Jr. (Sandra) of Arcola, LA, Patrick T. Williams (Melanie) of Mt. Hermon, LA, Trayvon T. Anders of Mt. Hermon, LA; twenty- two grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; Mother, Bessie Lee Watson of Mt. Hermon, LA; father Felix Coleman, of Gary, IN; five sisters, Joyce C. Dyson(Unandus) of Mt. Hermon, LA, Stephanie Watson of Baton Rouge, LA, Eric Y. Watson of Hammond, LA, Felicia Coleman of Gary, IN and Nakita Weems of Dallas, TX; six brothers, Leo M. Coleman (Delores) of Mt. Hermon, LA, James L. Coleman of Baton Rouge, LA, Kenneth M. Sibley (Patricia) of Baton Rouge, LA, Shelton Coleman of Gary, IN, Michael R. Watson, of Mt. Hermon, LA, and Devin Coleman of Gary, IN; two brothers- in- law, Jessie and William Williams both of Mt. Hermon, LA; five sisters- in- law, Altee Reed of Fort Worth, TX, Marie Paige of Battle Creek, Mich, Lucile Bickham of Franklinton, LA, Betty Rodgers of Mt. Hermon, LA and Dotsy Williams of Chicago, Ill.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her stepfather Victor Watson and son- in- law, Willerton Tidies.
Visitaion will be held Monday, October 10, 2011 at Crain & Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm, family hour 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Plainview Church of Christ Holiness USA with Elder Albert Brumfield ~ Pastor Officiating. Internment will be held at Plainview Church Cemetery.
